Great Stories.
I really like the stories in the Chandamama magazine from India.
When I was in primary school, my parents would send me to Kerala, India, to be with my grandmothers, uncles, and aunties. This was done every year during the November-December school holidays. I loved spending time with them. They loved me so much. Love was just overflowing from them. Especially from Varu, my uncle.
Varu uncle was a bachelor. He loved me like a son. I was with him all the time. When he wakes up in the morning to do the irrigation on the farm, I will follow him and "help".
In the evening, he and I would go to the village center's, bicycle rental shop and chat with his friends. It was great!
Back to the main point about Chandamama magazine. Whenever we travel by train, he would buy the Chandamama magazine. I would read and reread the stories. The stories really intrigued me. I tried to get a subscription sent to Singapore but it never happened. :-(
Then recently during the COVID period, I did a search for Chandamama magazine and found this site. https://chandamama.page
Boy, was I super excited. Old memories came back. It was just beautiful.
Here is an example of a short story that I really liked. The story is about how to react when rewards are presented to oneself. https://chandamama.page/stories/english/1978/11/#&gid=1&pid=59
Hope you like them too.
